Department Functions & Services

The Accounts Receivable Department is the record keeper responsible for the collection and/or depository of all external and internal monies. It is the responsibility of the Accounts Receivable Department to record the monies to the appropriate accounts for the operations of the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, St. Lucie County Clerk of the Circuit Courts, and the St. Lucie County Utilities Department.

Other Duties Include:

The auditing of various Sales Tax Reports
2.
The reconciliation of all county related bank accounts
3.
The financial record keeping of County and Clerk Retirees and LOA's (Leave of Absence) Health Insurance
4.
Receiving NSF (Non Sufficient Funds, ie: dishonored checks) payments

Department Fees for Services

Non-Sufficient Funds (dishonored check) Service Charges -
 
Amount of the check plus**:
  1. $25.00 if the face value of the check does not exceed $50.00
  2. $30.00 if the face value is over $50.00 but does not exceed $300.00
  3. $40.00 if the face value is over $300.00 but does not exceed $800.00
  4. 5% of face value if exceed $800.00

Do I need exact change when paying in cash?
Yes - Always.

How am I to reimburse for NSF (a Non Sufficient Funds dishonored check)?
Payment for a NSF (dishonored check) plus the service fee must be paid in full in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, money order, or cash (exact change). Payments made by cashier's or certified checks, or money orders, are to be made out to: St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners.

Are there any NSF fees (charges) for a dishonored check(s)?
Non-Sufficient Funds (dishonored check) Service Charges are as follows:
